What is the most likely diagnosis?
Answer
Answer:
Pyramidal lobe of thyroid
Case Discussion:
Cervical MR images revealed incidental pyramidal lobe of the thyroid.
The pyramidal lobe of thyroid is a normal anatomic variant (up to 10-30% of the population). The pyramidal lobe represents a persistent remnant of the thyroglossal duct. It usually arises from the right or left side of the isthmus extending in a cranial direction.
