Lytic bone metastases of renal cell cancer

Case Discussion:

CT images revealed the lytic bone metastases.

Lytic bone metastases are due to a variety of primary tumours, and they are more common than sclerotic metastases.

They include thyroid cancer, renal cell cancer, adrenal gland carcinoma and phaeochromocytoma, uterine carcinoma, gastrointestinal carcinomas, Wilms tumour, Ewing sarcoma, melanoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma of the skin, small cell lung carcinoma.
