Answer: Mesenteric cyst

Case Discussion:

MR images showing large unilocular intra-abdominal cyst lesion, which is not related to bowel and organs.

Mesenteric cyst is benign lesion that is found in the abdomen. It is rare abdominal lesion of unclear histologic origin, generally asymptomatic. It is usually a lymphangioma. Other mesenteric cysts like enteric duplication cyst, enteric cyst, nonpancreatic pseudocyst and mesothelial cyst are very rare. Lymphangiomas are commonly located in the neck, but 5% of them are abdominal.

Mesenteric cysts may occur anywhere within the mesentery. They are cystic mesenteric lesions that can be unilocular or multilocular and have thin or thick walls.
